Why TEH EH & CO
Our approach is shaped by experience working with organisations of different sizes, from large, listed businesses to growing SMEs, where finance often extends beyond accounting and compliance into better information, stronger processes and better-supported decisions.
Growing businesses can face many of the same needs, without necessarily having access to the same resources in-house.
TEH EH & CO was established to bring that experience to businesses in a practical and proportionate way, starting with what the business needs today and adding support as those needs develop.
How we think
Before recommending a solution, we consider whether it is necessary, whether the benefit justifies the cost, and whether it can realistically be implemented within the business.
That may mean introducing something new. It may mean making better use of an existing system or process. Sometimes, the simpler solution is the better one.
The objective is not complexity. It is to help the business arrive at an approach that works for its circumstances.
Building on good foundations
Many business owners already sense the limitations in their own information: a messy set of sales reports, month-end accounts that always seem to run late, records that are technically there but hard to actually use.
What's often less clear is what to do about it. Is it the system that needs to change, or the people using it? Should something new be introduced, or is the real fix simpler than that?
This is where we can make things easier, working out what's actually needed, and getting the foundation right so it holds up as the business grows, takes on new requirements, or eventually changes hands.
Growing alongside businesses
We see every engagement as an opportunity to grow with a business, not just complete an assignment.
The support a business needs will naturally change as it develops. What begins with accounting, tax coordination or company secretarial matters may later involve better reporting, process improvement, transfer pricing, sustainability or other more specialised needs.
Where appropriate, we also work alongside other professional and technology specialists so that the business can access the expertise it needs without every capability having to sit in one place.
Our aim is to remain useful as the business develops, providing practical support when and where it is needed.
About the Founder
TEH EH & CO was founded by Alicia Teh, a Chartered Accountant whose career spans Big Four audit and senior finance roles across Asia and New Zealand.
Her career has included working with businesses across different stages and operating environments, with experience across Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and New Zealand, as well as involvement in some of New Zealand's early sustainability assurance work.
That experience shapes the firm's approach today: understand the business first, apply technical knowledge in context, and focus on solutions that work in practice.
Her focus with TEH EH & CO is straightforward: helping SME owners get their business ready for its next stage, whether that's expansion or, eventually, passing it on to the next generation.
